Disney World to Discontinue Grad Nights After 2011

Disney World has been catering to high school graduates for 40 years with the park’s Grad Nights program, which includes 4 dates in April and May. Due to an overwhelming increase in park attendance during the Grad Night season, Disney World will be discontinuing the program for a more manageable alternative. Grads from all over the country will still be able to take advantage of the Grad Nights program at Disneyland, who started the program 50 years ago, but as far as Florida’s Disney World goes there will be an alternative of a reduced rate one day, one park ticket for Florida school groups; the ticket will be $55 which is a significant reduction in price.

Disney World representatives say that there is just too much going on to keep the scheduling of the Grad Night activities, including regular park hour and after-hour activities, and the events and activities for the regular park ticket holders. Making all the arrangements for the increased numbers during the spring event has been very difficult; however, those who are planning on coming down to Disney World for the 2011 Grad Nights celebration will still be able to. The program will be discontinued after 2011.
